Dental Tourism in Aurangabad:

Dental tourism is an important subset of medical tourism.Aurangabad is listed as one of the major cities in the country that provides cheap but quality dental treatment. It has a number of dental clinics of superior quality. Various dental procedures such as cosmetic dentistry, root canal treatment, full teeth replacements with dental implants, porcelain dental veneers, comfortable dentures, jaw surgery bone grafting etc are available that does not burn your pockets. One can select the office of treatment from a large number of clinics available.

Rather than being a preferred place for dental tourism, it is also a major tourist attraction. The city has a rich history and is named after the mughal emperor Aurangzeb .Some of the places of interest are:

Ajanta & Ellora Caves: These caves can be regarded as the pride of Maharashtra. These structures clearly depict the Indian craftsmanship several hundred years ago. Due to its splendid features, these caves are now among the World heritage sites. The caves of Ellora is relatively younger than the Ajanta caves, which date back to 100 B.C.

Ajanta caves are located in the Sahyadri hills, roughly 90 kms from the city of Aurangabad. The main theme of these caves is based on Buddhism. The archeological department has un-earthened Buddhist monasteries (Viharas) and Chaityas (chapels) from this place. Surrounding a gigantic horse shoe rock, are almost 30 caves. These structures overlook a gorge, forming a space in the hill with several rooms. It is very much common for the visitors to enquire about the intricate paintings and carvings.

The Ellora caves is only about 26 kms from the city of Aurangabad. Here also, there are about 34 caves that consist of Chaityas, Viharas and other structures. However, the structure that captures the most attention is the Kailasa temple, which is considered as the largest monolithic structure existing in the world. In contrast to the Ajanta caves, these structures were not rediscovered.

Both caves still motivate the present generation and shall also depict the greatness of Indian heritage in the years to come.

The Sunheri Mahal Museum: Contructed of lime and stone, this museum represents the Mughal grandeur.

The University Museum: It is rated as one of the well organized museums in Aurangabad. It is one of the few museums in the country that is attached to a univeristy.

The Chatrapati Shivaji museum: it is prominent cultural institution in India. It was earlier used as hospital and then for welfare of children. It was formerly called Prince of Wales Museum.
